Ok, ok…A GIVEAWAY!!!!!!!
Hmmm, that last post kinda worked! The lurkers are emerging! So, let’s make you emerge even more with…
A SCRAPPY GIVEAWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who knows what I’ll throw in the box…Imagination Project, Hambly, Daisy D’s…I know I’ve got tons (and more tons) that I can put in it! I promise it will be GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enough to make a flat rate Priority mail box worth it.
So post a comment! Let’s see…we’ll let this run until…Monday at Midnight EST. Sound good???
And, while you’re commenting, feel free to give advice on how to deal with an almost 3-year-old who evidentally thinks she’s about to turn 16. She is all about SASS right now! I CANNOT STAND IT! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ugh. The sad part? She’s me, in miniature. Yes, my mother’s cruel “I hope you have a child just like you” curse uttered many times over my lifespan in fact worked. Curse you mom! I’m gonna send her to your house so that you can curse her as well as you did me!!!!!
Ok…back to freebies. Get commenting!!!
**ADDED** Don’t forget to stop by Scrapvillage this weekend for another one of our awesome Virtual Crops! Just a mini one this weekend, and yours truly will be hosting it tomorrow afternoon!
***ADDED 8/4/07***
Oh my goodness! Look at all of those comments! I should give goodies away more often!!! I’ve enjoyed reading and responding to you guys, and thanks for all of the great advice!!!
I don’t want to start a new post b/c I want everyone to have the chance to get some goodies! So I’m just adding to this one. first of all, thanks for reading and commenting - you guys have given me warm fuzzies.
A few other things…
1. The new City Planner feature for August is up at my favorite scrappy site, Scrapvillage! This time around we scrapped about Pets and Animals. Here’s mine of my snoring scrap buddy…

2. My latest adventure…last week I was asked to join the Scrap for a Cure team. WONDERFUL kit club - what can be better than being a part of a club that donates part of their sales to a different charity every quarter??? And, since we’ve established that you guys like free stuff, if you sign up for their brand new forum saying that I sent you, introduce yourself, then sign in on the Challenges board, you will automatically be entered into some random drawings to be held over the week. Cool, huh?
So go get some free stuff! And keep commenting…2 more days left til I give some stuff away!

Hmmmmmmm, you know I’d love some of your stash. My almost 4 yo is a boy- I think they’re different than girls. He still give me lip and make faces at me. I still count to 3, which usually works. If not, I take something from him: if he’s watching a show, it gets turned off; if he’s playing with a certain toy, he loses it for the day. The last resort is he goes to his room and has to sit on his bed- which he hates. The problem is, I honestly don’t think he quite understands why he is being punished. But, I try to be consistent with it. That way he knows I mean it. Good luck and stay consistent!!

sassiness, totally know about that.
I usually say excuse me, with the dirty look and it brings my “diva” back to reality.
see ya in two days.
uhm…you going to sprinkle some of the new hambly on my round robin lo right?!!
muwaaaah

OK, I’m not laughing at you…I’m laughing WITH YOU. I, too suffer from my mother’s infamous curse of having “one just like me!”
Comment by Tracy Whitney — August 2, 2007 @ 6: 09
It must be the monkeys. Kristen’s the same way. Just keep smilin’ (sung in my best Dory impression). Oh, and taking pics. Ain’t they cute?!
Thanks for the hugs, btw, Tracey!
Comment by Karen — August 2, 2007 @ 7: 30
my niece is SO the same way…think she’s 16 and she’s only 4. last week @ a neighbor’s party, she saw they had a little pool for their dog. soooo, up to Daddy she trotted and asked for the house keys so she ‘could go change my clothes. by myself, daddy.’ she’s EXACTLY like her mommy! bwa-hahahahaha!!
and thanks for sharing your goodies!! you’ve always rocked (cuz i almost knew you when!)
Comment by valerie — August 2, 2007 @ 8: 40
No advice - My dogs behave just fine! And I can lock them up when they aren’t!
Good luck!
Comment by Nicole Crum — August 2, 2007 @ 10: 58
I hear ya sister, got one of those myself. I know a commenter already suggested it, but being consitent is really the best answer. You may get a few gray hairs, but she will get the idea. Oh and I really need a box of goodies. It sounds so exciting!!!
Comment by Jessica Forbeck — August 3, 2007 @ 2: 04
oooh, I’d love some of your stash. As for the sass - we have a daughter too and it can be trying at times - she will be 11 next week, but some days she seems to be 11 going on 30. I agree, be consistent in your approach and it will help you as she gets older.
Comment by Nicole — August 3, 2007 @ 2: 19
hey girl!!! how to deal with a sassy kid…hmmm…I just ignore them and go to the next room!
Comment by Celia — August 3, 2007 @ 4: 51
Well, I can so relate to your daughter, mine is also 3, going on 30. SHe thinks she knows everything. She tries my patience all the time. Daddy seems to know how to handle her better than me. Bribes work believe me on that one…To top it al, I am nearly 6 months thru my pregnancy, and we are having another GIRL, give me stength…lol
Always love coming by here and reading your blog, even more incentive to post wit yummy blog candy.
Keep on blogging…love reading!
Regards,
Sophia (from Durban, South Africa)

I already told you that we could trade 2 year olds. Mine isn’t sassy yet. Just wait till she is about 8. I have a 10 year old you can have who has totally gotten mouthy lately! I might borrow some hot sauce tonight for her! LOL
Comment by Kasey — August 3, 2007 @ 9: 31
Hi Tracey–I found your blog through another one last week… I’ve enjoyed reading your posts and seeing your artwork. I also thought it was so cool that you are in Newport News…I grew up there and moved away when I got married.
Comment by Megan B — August 3, 2007 @ 10: 25
I usually find that a quiet mommy voice saying “that’s rude” usually works with my dd (now 5) after a few 1000 of these she’s not quite so sassy. Good luck!
Comment by Rebecca — August 3, 2007 @ 10: 42
Hi Tracy!!
I tell you.. 3 is worse than 2. I tell everyone that and no one believes me until they go through it. Hang on.. 4 is the SWEETEST age ever.
Comment by Beth — August 3, 2007 @ 12: 18
umm - no advice here - I too suffer from the same syndrome - how about a glass of wine? Or a bottle:)
Comment by michelle lanning — August 3, 2007 @ 12: 23
Sorry, I don’t have any advice. I just hope that MY mom’s similar prediction doesn’t come true…
Comment by Nicole — August 3, 2007 @ 2: 30
I read and post….sometimes I just lurk. just depends on my day and caffeine level! lol!

btw….you are welcome to send some stash my way! I promise to give it a good home!

Daisy d SOUNDS GOOD TO ME
Comment by KimmyS — August 3, 2007 @ 4: 55
Ok, my second comment in a week. It’s a blog comment record for me! My “little” girl is 9 going on 29. She is actually quite a joy but is seriously getting the neck roll thing going this summer. (The one that usually goes with the finger pointed and the “oh no you didn’t” comment) She knows better than to point a finger or make such a comment. But, the neckroll…she has down to a tee. All I have to do is give her a certain look and she gives me the innocent angel faced “what?” I wouldn’t trade the sass for anything and in a few years I’ll have a croppin buddy for sure!!! Have a great weekend. I am heading to Chesapeake next week and will be somewhat close to your neck of the woods! It’s always fun to check out the lss while I’m there! Because…goodness knows I do not have enough scrapbook supplies! hee hee

Oh…….. I so know how you feel, my youngest is turning three in November….
Comment by Heidi — August 3, 2007 @ 7: 29
I found your Blog while looking at another blog a while back. I knew I recognized your work from an online gallery, but it took me sometime to remember where. It was from the Scrapbook Stand. I was a member there also. I was their guest designer for April ‘07. By the way they closed a couple of days ago. I have been lurking on your blog, but for some free goodies I had to come out and say hi. I don’t know if I have any advice for you though because I am still trying to figure out how to handle my three crazy boys.
Comment by Tracy Sinclair — August 3, 2007 @ 8: 08
You’re just lucky she waited until she was 3 to bring the sass. My 18 month old is the same way and I swear I’ll be insane by the time she’s 3! Gotta love her, though, she is exactly like me.
So, my advice is stick to your guns…and teach her that actions have consequences. If she acts badly, she can’t do/have whatever is her favorite.
What is that saying? “It’s not what you give your kids that spoils them…it’s what you give them to avoid confrontation.” I try to think of that when I am about to give in to their cuteness or when they start throwing a fit about something.
Comment by Angie Hagist — August 3, 2007 @ 10: 35
:P if I new that answer, I’d be a happy girl too! it was smooth sailing here for my youngest til about 3.5 and now he’s all ‘tude. Sigh.

YAY!
I was hoping you’d have a blog! It was SO awesome to finally meet you today! Sorry I had to jet early. Apparently my son’s tongue injury was kind of a bad one…he’s got a “bite line” across the tip of it. Poor kid.
Hoooooooooooooot pocket!!!!!
Comment by Stephanie — August 4, 2007 @ 8: 38
I love your new lo’s. As far as 3 year olds, well, my 12 year old is acting that way too, although I do remember there were a few years in between 3 and 10 when the attitude wasn’t so bad and she was sweet and willing most of the time. Hang in there, hopefully it will get better. I mean IT WILL get better!
Comment by Jill Jackson — August 5, 2007 @ 12: 15
Tracey!! How have you been? So I read that you turned Alexis on to that HP printer and now I am in the “if Tracey reccommended it, I must have it” mode!!! So just help a girl out and tellme where the best online deal is, LOL!
Comment by shirley — August 5, 2007 @ 6: 44
okay I guess a gag until she is 21 is totally out of the question according to my friends with children. They said something about laws and jail time???and that they now understand why I don’t have kids.
Comment by lynn — August 5, 2007 @ 8: 14
Tracey- Scrap for a Cure sounds fab!
I’m so frightened to ever have a girl-child… my mom uses a timer with my sassy little cousin (just turned 4) and it works miracles!
Comment by Becca — August 5, 2007 @ 8: 38
I don’t have any kids, yet, so I have no clue what to tell ya! Good luck!

First time visiter to your blog…I’m going peek around a little more.
I always found that the best way to deal with sass was to ignore it. I don’t think it works when they’re teenagers though
Comment by Michelle Dort — August 5, 2007 @ 9: 34
I just found your blog, through another blog! Love your work. Your scrappin’ buddy is totally adorable!
Comment by Stevie K — August 6, 2007 @ 12: 10

Yeah…the sass…I tell myself that I’d rather my girls are sassy than too shy and introverted…sometimes that works
Love your puppy layout!
Comment by julie miller — August 6, 2007 @ 4: 57
Tracey–I would love to get lucky and win some of your loot. As for toddler advice, I’ve got nothing. No kids for me, but in a month I’ll have 22 7 year-olds waiting for me in my classroom. Ahh, I do love when they are giving their parents all the attention in the summer
