Still in Utter Shock
Me???? Seriously?????? No, the shock has not worn off. But after 5 years of trying, I’m ever so thankful. Shocked but thankful. And if you want to hear me in my latest role as ‘The blubbering, giggling idiot’, click here.
HUGE thank you’s to…
-my scrap crazy mentor, Traci. Luv you and miss you, and I value every word of advice you gave me. Chris will be sending you large quantities of Sonic Burgers and Cherry Limeades as a thank you for him not having to deal with me stressing over HOF every January anymore.
-Erin - for being here Monday. So glad that I could get your screaming voice on the CK website.
-The local gang, and my other favorite scrappy people that I bug nightly on the IMs - for always believing in me.
-Pegster - for sending the HOFf vibes my way. Ooga Chakka!
-My scrubby - honey, you know I love you more than anything. Thanks for being my biggest cheerleader and for being so friggin cute this past week. You really were more worked up than I was this year.
Wait. All of a sudden this turned into some Academy Awards acceptance speech, and I know I’m forgetting people. I think the orchestra just started playing, so my speech is over. But in short…
THANK YOU, CK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG - Tracey!!!! finally someone i know that made it!!! it couldn’t happen to a nicer blogger, er scrapper!! way to go girl, i can’t wait to see your cute little face shining at me from the next issue of CK!!!

I agree with you that kids school projects are just huge these days. My son is in 5th grade. We spent 3 weeks doing research for a project on Lou Costello (of Abbott & Costello fame), then he had to write the report, dress like him for extra credit (you try to find a houndstooth jacket for an 11 year old!) and he had to type it since his handwriting is the worst. The project was 3 parts - the 3rd was a commercial he had to create that was 1 minute exactly.
He had a social studies project about Arizona where he had to make a map that was exact to the actual map, except he didn’t have to put all the rivers and such, just the major ones. He had to make a report of 5 places and then create a brochure from it and then present it.
I also noticed that these projects usually begin the weekend after the big tests in March. As if preparing him for the darned test isn’t enough work!
The snake project looks beautiful. Isn’t it great that he has all these artistic elements and gadgets in his house already to help out with the project. All I had was construction paper and markers!
Good job. Wait until 2nd grade!
