I should probably mention…

Gabe lost his tooth! Thursday evening. Biting into a plum. Pictures are a-comin!

**edited*** for Valerie…when the tooth came out, we were informed that the going rate for a tooth these days was a dollar. That’s what so-&-so from his class received. [insert rolling eyes here] And Mommy begged the tooth fairy to leave the tooth for her scrapbooks, so that was still under the pillow, too. ;)

I’m going to try to post pics tonight after halloween festivities. I’ve got lots of cute pics in my camera begging to be uploaded right now!

Finally Fifteen!!!!!!!

I’ve FINALLY hit the 15 pounds lost mark at Weight Watchers! WOO HOO! Only took me since April. Shoot, the last five pounds took me 15 weigh-ins to do! YIKES! My body was just STUCK at this weight since it was the pre-Emily weight. But I’m pround to say I know weigh 3 pounds less than when I got preggers nearly 3 years ago. Whew! What a relief. Now to work on the in-between babies weight before I can get to the Gabe weight. This is such a slow process for me, but I don’t care. As long as it leaves. You know, I’m starting to believe Traci’s Weight Loss Theory. Not that I have to worry about pounds 120-125 like she does. I WISH! That girl better be glad she just moved across the country or else I’d have to hate her for being so tiny. Yeah, we’re alike in alot of ways (name, bday, scrap obsessiveness), but NOT in weight!

So, I’m still not ready to post the actual weight I’m weighing yet. That may be a while. And you SOOO won’t see the weight loss pictures for a while, either. I’m just not far enough away from the original weight yet to admit to it. But I have them archived, waiting for when I’m ready. ;) Next goal is my 10% goal. Only about 2 pounds to go for that one, so hopefully it won’t be as difficult as this last one. Ugh!

I’m BAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

Man, my blog is turning into one of those hopelessly boring blogs that never gets updated. But I swear I have my reasons!

First, I’ve been soooo sick. Ugh. It started w/ a drug reaction…basically a new med that I was taking made it take longer for the muscle spasm med to clear my body…essentially overdosing. So, I slept. Alot. *I* was going to bed at 10pm!!! (Um, I normally go to bed around 1 or 2 am. Sad, I know). So once we figured that out, I stopped taking the new med, and the pharmacist let me know that it could take up to a month for it to clear my body. Double Ugh. It is getting better. It does still make me sleepy, but gradually better. THEN I got some AWFUL bug and landed in the hospital for half a day. Let’s just say I did #2 about 20 times in 3 hours = dehydration. My heart rate was REALLY slowing down, so I made Chris take me in so I could get rehydrated. 2 1/2 liters of fluid, some Zofran (for nausea), and alotta Fentanyl later, I was a weeee bit better. That’s been about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Still can’t eat much greasy food, but I’m basically recovered.

Then I went on a Getaway. :)

I spent 4 days this past weekend at the beach on a Scrapbook Getaway w/ 18 other girls. And after the previous 2 weeks I’ve had, boy did I need it! I got 5 layouts, a necklace, a pair of earrings, 4 canvas paintings (for Em’s big girl room), and 1/2 a calendar done. :) Maybe my mojo has FINALLY returned! Not to mention the tons of laughs, laps in the heated pool, and late nights in the hot tub. There is nothing my body needed more than this past weekend!!!

Here’s a few pics!

And, yes, I was a nutella virgin until Friday evening. But no longer. Man, that stuff is good. Especially when smeared onto PUMPKIN FUDGE!

This is Wilson and his kid. Everyone was trying to bribe me w/ gifts of pumpkin in order to win the Hambly giveaway, and this was one of the bribes (along w/ the coolest pumpkin straw, the pumpkin fudge, and pumpkin taffy!) I can’t remember who named him, but he became ‘Wilson.’ By the end of the weekend, I even painted my hand red and smeared it on him. hehe

And finally, the Pumpkin Queen. Yes, I am obsessed.

2 Things that I have to post…

Sometimes, no matter how sick you are, you just have to say a few things. This is one of those times. And thanks for all of the well wishes that have come my way; I am slowly feeling better. Seems I first had a bad drug reaction, then came down w/ a nasty bug that’s been going around. Spent yesterday morning in the ER to get rehydrated, and I’m now just working on getting my energy back. Ok, here’s the real news…

1. GABE HAS A LOOSE TOOTH!!!! You have NO idea how proud he is of this. He bit into an orange during halftime at his soccer game today and discovered it. Spent the entire second half wiggling it instead of playing and watching the ball. Spent the afternoon crying about it because now he knows that eating with a newly loosened tooth isn’t such a hot thing. He’s been dying to have a loose tooth for quite a while, spending every day checking them for wiggles, so this is pretty exciting for a 6-year-old! (and his parents. :) )

2. This, available for download at Scrapvillage:

My first digital kit! Ok, don’t be expecting a ton of them, but this one was necessary. After I had one of these desk calendars published in BHG Scrapbooks Etc last January, I had several people ask me if I still had the templates. I didn’t. So this year, I decided to save them, and Leah and I figured out a way to have them downloadable on the site. Cool, huh? Makes me so darn giddy!

Thanks for letting me share!

One more bit of weirdness, + terror.

I thought of one other weird thing…

6. My grandfather (mom’s dad) died on July 17, 1966. I was born exactly 10 years later, July 17, 1976, at the same hospital. Creepy.

And if my daughter had a weird list, I’d probably have to list how she did #2 in the bathtub last night. And not the nice neat kind either. I thought I was gonna puke. I guess she’s not really ready to potty-train after all. (ewwwwwwwwwwwww!)

Now, on to terror. Today was picture day for Gabe. This scares me. Do you remember the last set of school pictures from Kindergarten? You don’t? Oh, that’s because I refused to hand them out. Let’s do a visual recap:

Fall:

And Spring:

Terrified that his pictures would look like that again, I began smile practice with him a few days ago. Yes, I’m totally serious. You would THINK, considering how many times the poor boy has had to smile for me over the years, that he would have it down to an art. Evidentally not (see above.) So we had smile practice. This morning on the way to school, I really thought he had it down. There were some beautiful smiles coming from that darling face. He was so proud of himself. So this afternoon, he gets into the van after school and says, “Mom! I’m smiled! Like this!”

And proceeded to flash the Terror Grin of Spring ‘06 (again, see above).

Not to mention that he said the photographer took his picture twice.

Oh crap. Just what is going to show up in his bookbag four weeks from now? Please let it be good, God. I don’t think my family will let me get away with not giving them school pictures again. (Cuz I don’t take enough other pictures? [rolling eyes]).

I’ll keep you updated.

Something to say

Because I don’t have much else to say without going into a long, exhaustive ramble of complaints, I’ll answer my ‘tag’ from Shirley, instead! :)

The rules are : List 5 weird things about yourself or your pets. Tag 5 friends and list them. Then, those people need to write on their blogs about 5 weird things, and state the rules, and tag 5 more people. Don’t forget to let the people you tag know by posting a comment on their blog!

1. I currently have orange hair. Ok, it’s not kool-aid orange or anything. And this time it is on purpose (not accidental paint). It’s called Almond Rocca. And it actually looks GOOD! You know the whole complimentary colors idea…orange hair, blue eyes…who woulda thunk?

2. The last knuckle on my pointer fingers can bend backwards 90 degrees. Pretty freaky.

3. My dog, Zuzu, likes to eat grass then puke it up on my carpet. Gross.

4. I have oppositely identical birthmarks. (huh?) On the front of my right thigh, I have an irregular shaped birthmark that has no melanin. No matter how tan I get, it stays white. On the back of my right knee, I have a birthmark that is shaped the exact same way that has more melanin than anywhere else on my body. No matter how tan I get, it’s always darker.

5. In college, I would listen to the Three Tenors and Friends to study. To this day I still get teased about hearing Luciano Pavarati and Bryan Adams sing Moon River. It’s pretty hilarious. I dare you to go listen to it here. It’s track #2.

I tag Peg, Kelly, Valerie, Kerry, and, well, anyone else who reads, has a blog, and feels like challenging themselves!
