So many updates, so many pictures, so little time

Yeah, yeah. Shirley’s probably gonna kill me if I don’t update this thing. I’d there is alot to update on, so here goes…

First of all, the playground is DONE (kind of). We still have to get plastic to put at the bottom of the sandbox and put the sand in, but other than that, it’s done. The kids have been having a BLAST! Here it is:

Next, just a funny picture…who falls asleep like this???

And speaking of funny pictures, we got another round of bribery photos, I mean, school pictures back today. What’s with my kid and school photos? You’d think he’s learned to smile for all of the pics I’ve taken of him! Let’s recap…

In the Fall, there was the ‘Something Stinks in Here’ smile:

Now, there’s the double whammy: evidentally,
1. The photographer scared the daylights out of him before snapping the picture, hence the terrified look, and
2. He put on 20 pounds just before the picture, but lost it before he came home:

Seriously, WHO IS THAT KID? Because I’ve never seen him in my life. Gosh, I sure am glad that I manage to take good pictures of my kids. I would hate for these to be the only pictures he grows up with!!!!!

On the homefront the kids have been super fun (in between all of the whining and arguments that is). It seems that Miss Emily has discovered the brownie batter. This stinks for me. Before kids, I got to lick the spoon and the bowl. Then Gabe took the spoon from me. I survived (I just left more batter in the bowl. hehe). But, alas, the little eyes finally spied us. She even pulled a chair over! Grrrr. Now what am I supposed to lick???? BOO HOO!

Last but not least, John and Alex had a playdate here last night while Monica and I went to a party. We came home, walked into the playroom, and found this:

GASP! It’s a good thing that God invented Alcohol and I managed to get all of this off before school!!!!!!!!!!

On an end note, however, I have to ask for some prayers for my Mom. She was admitted to the hospital tonight b/c she’s been coughing up A LOT of blood over the past two days. She’s had several xrays, CT scan, bloodwork, etc., but we don’t know any results yet. But if you could keep her in your thoughts, I’d appreciate it. :)

Easter pics

I finally managed to get this up here. Aren’t these kids so freakin cute??? The extra little cutie is my nephew, Kaleb. Keep in mind this kid is only 2 months older than Emily, which makes him 21 months old, but he looks nearly four. He’s huge! I was fortunate enough to be able to take some of his new headshots while I was home, so I’m putting those up, too, since they turned out so cute. And this, I believe, is the first ever partially decent photo we have of the three Hearn grandkids. It only took nearly two years! I’ll let you stare at my three cuties now… ;)

Oh, and the playground is done! Just have to go get some plastic to put under the sandbox. But the kids did get to try out the swings tonight. I’ve got to take some pics and post them! I promise to soon!!!!

An Easter Gabeism

In honor of the holiday, Gabe blurted out another hilarious one the other day that I had to share:

(while talking w/ Mommom Sissy)

Gabe: Yesterday was Good Friday, the day Jesus died on the cross. And there were 3 crosses. Jesus was on the one in the middle.

Mommom: That’s right, he was.

Gabe: And on the other two crosses were the STOLERS.

Mommom: No, they were thieves.

Gabe: NO MOMMOM! They were STOLERS! Cuz they STOLE STUFF!

I love this kid.

I bet you think it’s Chocolate…

Nope. That would be my girly girl, in the dress that she twirled in this morning, covered in dirt. Rolling in it. Eating it. Caked on. Scrubbed off. DIRT. And why the face? Because it was time to go eat dinner and she was MAD.

Tomorrow I’ve got to remember to take pictures of the playset - we’re making progress!!!

What I did today…

A couple of things. First, we went to Toys R Us to purchase a wooden swing set for the kids. It’s something we’ve wanted to get for them for quite some time, and when I saw a rather large one on sale there for only $300, I knew it was time. It feels so good to be able to do things for them, but they needn’t think they are spoiled…I believe that I’m going to use the excuse that it is a birthday present 5 months early. If we ever manage to put the thing together (which may take til their birthdays!) I’ll posts pics!

Anyway, while there, we bought these adorable little things for Em for a whopping FIVE BUCKS:

Aren’t the too stinkin cute??? And she was in LOVE. Sat on the floor in the middle of the store, begging me to put them on. Yup, she’s my girl!!!

And then there is the shocking thing that I did today.

You have to prepare yourself for this one.

And you have to pardon the really cheesy picture. I’ll have to take a better one.

Here goes:

Can we say CHOP CHOP??? This is what happens when I tell the hairdresser to have fun!! She took 3 inches off! No more ponytails for me!!! It took me an hour or so to get used to it, but now I love it!!!

So, that’s MY day!

Tagged again!!!

By Shirley, or, as my husband put it this evening while sitting at the dinner table, “the woman who always comments on your blog?” Yup. That’s her. At least I have one fan. ;)

5 snacks I enjoy:

* Reeses Peanut Butter anything, but preferrably the eggs, trees or hearts (they have more peanut butter!)
* Strawberries
* Wheat Thins
* Clementines
* Did I mention Reeses yet???

5 songs to which I know all the lyrics:

* Pie Jesu (some choir songs from High School have stuck with me)
* Steamroller (James Taylor)
* pretty much anything byMichael Buble, Damien Rice, Jack Johnson, or John Mayer
* Rockabye Baby

5 things I would do if I were a multi-millionaire:

* Move to Hershey
* Pay for college for all of the kids in the family
* Make sure my parents have no bills
* Donate to research for SI joint dysfunction…b/c no one should have to go through this.
* S.C.R.A.P.

5 bad habits:

* eating too much
* not keeping my scrap room clean

* taking naps (though I don’t really see it as bad)

5 things I like doing:

* my puter.
* ALMOST anything related to the word ’scrap’
* A CD changer
* My retractable xacto knife. Chris nearly flipped his lid when he saw it. I think he was actually envious!

5 people I will tag:

* How about this…rather than listing people…
* I tag anyone who reads this blog. That’s about 5 people, right??? ;)

He makes her smile…

Even when she has a 104 fever.

About 2 hours before these pictures, her temp spiked at 104. It was probably still about 102 when these were taken on Saturday. And she was CRANKY all day. This was, quite literally, the only time she smiled all day.

Later that night, I ended up having to take her to the hospital because the fever wouldn’t break. Blood cultures, urine catheterization, and chest xray later, they figured it was not bacterial, and was ,rather, viral, so it was just a matter of it running its course.

And yesterday, it turned into this:

Actually, that picture is today. The rash is much worse. It seems my baby has roseola. Gabe had it at her age, too. Fairly harmless, just looks nasty. And after we had to clean up the nastiest stenchiest puke I’ve ever seen in my life last night, it seems she has finally broken her fever, too. Still clingy and super cranky today, but wouldn’t you be if you looked like this? My poor baby. :(
