My baby is one

Emily is one. A cute, adorable, toddling one. Of course, something has occurred to me over the past couple of days. Is she really one, or do I have to wait until tomorrow? She was born at 10:36pm PACIFIC time on 9/2. But, now we are back on the East Coast. So, really, EASTERN time, she wasn’t born until 1:36am on 9/3. So, how do we celebrate it here?
Ok…I know, I know…her birthday will alwasy be the 2nd. It’s not like I’m going to go change her birth certificate or anything. But it is something to ponder. A little strange, huh? So, since we certainly do plan to live in this time zone for the rest of our lives, it will give us something to ponder every year. Something to laugh about. To make my already special little girl very unique.
Of course, I really didn’t get to spend alot of time with her today. So many appointments. Took Gabe to school, then headed to the chiropractor. Then back to school for a Teddy Bear Picnic. The first week of school, the kids were allowed to bring their favorite stuffed animal to school with them. Gabe has a puppy that he absolutely adores (thank you Aunt Stacy!) and sleeps with every night. So, that’s what he took. So today, while the kids were outside, the stuffed animals ‘disappeared.’ The children then proceeded to go to every classroom looking for them. (yeah, he has a brave teacher to do this - can’t imagine how much some of these kids were panicking, Gabe included). Finally, after heading through each classroom, they proceeded outside, where their stuffed animals (cough, cough, and their moms/dads, cough) had suprised them with a Teddy Bear Picnic! Complete with homemade bear cookies, Teddy Grahams, Gummy Bears, Berry juice, and rolls with, what else? Honey. SOOOOO cute! And Gabe was super excited to see me there and to find Puppy, although, Puppy was reprimanded by him for leaving without permission. (his words, not mine.) How cute is that???
Then, for me, it was back to Portsmouth for my first MRA - left side. NOT comfortable. Needless to say, My hip hurts right now, but why shouldn’t it w/ an extra 30cc of fluid floating in it??? Hey - as long as it results in an answer, I’ll deal with the pain. We shall find out in a week or so.
Well, back to the kitchen. Preparing for the birthday Luau tomorrow, so I’ll have plenty of pictures to post by Sunday. In the meantime…
Happy 1st Birthday, my sweet Emily!!!!!!!!!!
